With the exception of a few 3rd party plug-ins not working (appears to be PPC or Intel dependent) this release seems quite stable and much faster than recent versions.
BTW, that DP 3 logo at the top of this page is a little out of date... still, it is nostalgic. :)

While DP 6.01 looks better and some things are working better, a few nagging issues remain. First and foremost is that some users (myself included) are experiencing app freezes while editing in the event list. DP is also reporting a "Fatal" error while loading some plug-ins but doesn't say which plug-in is to blame. Proverb is the one that is always showing at the time of the OS error report, and the app appears to be continuing to load and operate normally after that.
All of these require a learning curve to become efficient to work on projects.
Some offer a live advantage like Ableton and some offer strengths in the studio.
Blah... blah...blah.
I have used MOTU's DAW since the days of Performer version 2.
Now 15 years later I use DP7.
Here is the biased part, I do not know Logic well ... or PT or... whatever.
I only know DP.
My impressions for DP7 are there are not a lot of noticeable (on the surface) changes, save the guitar and mic placement/amp type plug-ins. I do find it is faster more solid on the G5 2.5 OS 10.4.11 we have.
The drag and drop user impulse IR's for DP 7's ProVerb offer the power of Audio Ease's Altiverb.wonderfully rich reverbs sans the $ 800 pricetag.
All DAW's have come a long way, I am grateful it was MOTU I started off with,
DP 7 kicks *ss :)
