While not exactly perfect for everyone. It is a nice start with a developer willing to add features.

Great going.

Cheers

I was looking for a replacement for Tex-Edit Plus which behaves very slow on my Intel Mac, but found textMachine not beeing close to that. The main goal for me was to capture text from the web or other documents, put them into a simple editor to get rid of the formatting - in order to use the text somewhere else. Something only Tex-Edit Plus seems to provide by holding the comand key while pasting inside any open document window.

The app starts with an editor window which is filled up with helpful advices by default, like how to save and open files. Great info! In order to enter some new text you're forced to delete this text first. It saves in .txt only but when you want to open the file with the Apple TextEdit.app you realize that the Umlauts are garbage. I won't recommend this program, which appears to be dedicated for the "ton" and has no funny features at all.
