OmniDazzle ReviewBoth useful and amusing - Version: 1.0.2, 6/29/2008 09:18AM PST

It's fun to play with all of the dazzling cursor effects. Although many are just for amusement (or adding a surprise to a presentation), I find the Bullseye very helpful in locating my cursor when it's lost somewhere on my three monitors -- shaking the mouse causes a momentary bullseye around the cursor.

OmniDazzle Usage TipRE: Nice but... - Version: 1.0 beta 2, 6/4/2006 07:04PM PST

Thanks to the Keynote users list, I find that it does work with Keynote but the preference for allowing expose and dashboard to work lets OmniDazzle to work on top of it.

I'll have to play with it before buying though.

OmniDazzle CommentaryNice, but... - Version: 1.0 beta 2, 6/4/2006 05:08PM PST

I just installed OmniDazzle.

It does not work as far as I can tell with KeyNote. This would include any application that has to be the topmost application running. I really had my hopes up. I tried control & option key modifiers and a three button mouse but could not get any effect with the presentation running.

I would really like to use this or an application like this with Keynote.

It works... just not with KeyNote.

After using beta 2 for a day now, I have found that the "scribble" option is going to help immensely using ARD with my clients!
That option alone for presentations and remote help is worth the price alone!
Most of the others are just eye-candy (and that's fine) and fun.
I hope they make more "modules" for lack of a better term later.

Good deal. What started out as a crashing curiosity has actually become something I look forward to purchasing.
I would ask for a "timer" on the pointers, a la, "MousePosé" but the "shake" is also a cool idea!

And sorry for my (the first review) rant below - it was about 90° in my house and i was in a bad mood - that post didn't help the developers or the potential users of this software...

OmniDazzle ReviewSimply awesome! - Version: 1.0 beta 2, 6/3/2006 10:14AM PST

No one is being forced to purchase OmniDazzle, don't purchase OmniDazzle if you are not happy with the pricing. However, we should be supporting the developers like OmniGroup who continue to develop innovative new products for the Mac. Remind you, Apple has single digit market share which translates to Apple Developers having a much smaller target customer base than PC developers.

I absolutely love this new utility and as soon as it is available for purchase I will purchase it.

OmniDazzle ReviewGreat Work From OmniGroup - Version: 1.0 beta 2, 6/3/2006 05:44AM PST

Runs perfectly on my G5. I thought the app would just have some eye candy effects with no substance, but there are more than a few modes that could come in very handy. I can definitely see how this would be great for presentations or creating instructional screen grab videos or images. For professionals who will find these functions useful, the $15 price is more than fair. The app has run flawlessly and demonstrates the high quality work I've come to expect from the OmniGroup. Note to other reviewers: 1. An app not being useful to you does not make it ontologically useless. 2. Any app that is not useful to you is overpriced if it is not free. Any app that would significantly enhance your work would be a steal at $15.
