iTunify Commentarydead link to Doug - Version: 1.7.7, 1/21/2008 12:00AM PST

On the Satsumac web page there a erroneus link saying "Some of the code used in iTunify is available as a free download from Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes". The link however is faulty and leads to an error page.

While he's being semi-open about it I question the morale to package free scripts and charge for it without the explicit consent of the developer. On the other hand applescripts that are not copyrighted, may be free for the taking legally. But does the laws equal good morale?

iTunify CommentaryWhy Use Something for Free When You Can PAY for it? - Version: 1.7.7, 1/5/2008 05:06AM PST

I've been using iTunes scripts from *Doug Adams* site for FREE for months. Of course, since some have proven to be invaluable, I've made a donation to Doug. He deserves it.

But, here I've found a "developer" [coughing] that CHARGES for many of these same scripts --- whether they represent original work or not.

Gosh, I've been using and enjoying the fruit of somebody's hard work for FREE when I could have paid somebody *else* for it --- whether *they* deserve to be paid or not?

Silly me.

iTunify CommentaryGood, but large question looms - Version: 1.7.6, 12/26/2007 08:11AM PST

I have purchased this software and use it. It works for me and I'm glad I paid for it. I understand that it is a collection of scripts that are probably available elsewhere, but the GUI and ease make it worthwhile for me.

BUT, if it is true that the code is stolen from the hard-working Doug Adams, then this software should be pulled from the market. And, if that claim is proved, I'll head over to Doug's site and throw him a few (more) bucks through his Paypal link -- which all of us who use some of his hundreds (thousands) of scripts should do anyway.

This developer uses the scripts of Doug Adams without permission.
Don't pay fot these, get free originals from Doug's site:
http://dougscripts.com/itunes/index.php

As I have heard, Doug has already contacted the developer and waits for response.

This set of scripts does what the developer claims, he updates them as the need arises, and he only asks for a modest fee.

iTunify Reviewdragging multiple folders into itunes' playlist pane - Version: 1.7.5, 11/25/2007 09:23PM PST

Bobby June
i don't let itunes manage my music. when i add music, i simply drag folders of the artists into the itunes playlist window, thus creating separate playlists. very long but just how i organized them on my hd.

problem: i can't drag a bunch of folders at once and have them come up as they are organized in the finder. itunes makes them one playlist. i don't like this stock method, so i'm suggesting the above.

thanks.

It does what it says it does. Works very well for me. I asked the developer to implement the possibility to export more then one artwork for a track and 24 hours later he sended me the "betaversion" of this release. That's what i mean when i talk about support.

He deserves more than what others here, wrote about him.

I could pay this ridiculous amount of $$ or I could get all these functions as scripts for FREE at a particular web site -

I opt for the Free choice.

I amazes me that no one can just make a simple app for free, everyone wants to be a billionaire. Heck, this developer practically stole all these ideas from scriptwriters!
