Product Description:

1Password is a Password Manager that uniquely brings you both Security and Convenience. It is the only program that provides Anti-Phishing protection and goes beyond password management by adding Web Form Filling and Automatic Strong Password Generation. All your confidential information, including passwords, identities, and credit cards, is kept in one secure place provided by Apple's OS X Keychain. 1Password browser extensions support Safari, Camino, Firefox, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, Netscape Navigator, and Flock. All browser extensions share the data stored in the keychain which means you never need to manually copy your passwords between browsers or from the password manager to a browser ever again! 1Password has received numerous awards, including 4.5 mice from Macworld magazine, MacLife Editors pick, and was the Pick of Week on MacBreak Weekly by both Leo Laporte and Merlin Mann.

What's new in this version:

  • CHANGED Replaced the .1report extension with plain old .html for Diagnostic Reports.
  • CHANGED Updated the Switch to Agile Keychain window to make it clear what the password is for, added the ability to specify a reminder hint.
  • CHANGED Updated Registration Required prompt.
  • CHANGED Fixed rare 1Password freezing problem that could happen on launch.
  • CHANGED Search no longer includes item UUIDs in the search criteria.
  • FIXED Fixed problem where the contents of the Sync Conflict Resolver Window was empty in some cases.
  • FIXED Fixed memory leak in Safari extension.
  • FIXED Fixed missing localization of several strings.

After doing a dreaded hard drive format, I reinstalled 1Password, but could not get the program to open. I tried all the things I knew to do from years of experience in using computers, but nothing worked. I was certain of my master password, but the program would not recognize it. Finally I contacted the support team. I was amazed and appreciative that they responded in only a few hours. Over a two day time they stuck with me until I discovered the whole thing was my fault in inadvertently having the caps lock on when I reinstalled the program. It's the little things that get you! The team at 1Password stuck with me until I humbly admitted it was my problem. I have not had better support services from any software company.

1Password ReviewGreat Product / Great Customer Service - Version: 2.9.19, 6/10/2009 06:34PM PST

I've never had a problem with the installation and use of 1Password. This update, as well as previous updates, have worked fine. While one commenter indicated that the number of updates shows the product isn't ready for prime time, I would disagree. Even its initial version this password and registration management tool far exceeded the competition and what I used before. The continued updates focus on new features and adapting to changes in its interface with other applications.

The other benefit of 1Password has been its excellent customer service - prompt, courteous and clear. I contrast this to the total lack of customer service at other companies who abandon their customers after a quick sale. I would recommend this product to friends - and do.

(1Password and Vuescan customer service are in the same league. *****)
