Product Description:

iRed Lite is a nice add-on to Front Row. It does not replace Front Row but adds new features to your Apple Remote. Hold down Menu on your AR and iRed Lite gets into control. iRed Lite provides several examples of controlling QuickTime Player, iTunes or the Finder, but a editor for more actions is built-in.

Since 0.9.7 iRed Lite supports multiple Apple Remotes, using the little secret that every Apple Remote has an identifier built-in. This can be used for direct access of layers without activating them before.

Even if you don't own multiple Apple Remotes, you may put the codes onto a programmable RC, then change the ID of your Apple Remote, and teach more codes to your PRC. There are 255 supported IDs, so imagine the possibilities!

See the Help menu for details on this unique feature.

Installed easy, addition of support for PowerPoint was smooth thanks to the preconfigured settings. Handling is intuitive, thanks for a valuable addition to the Apple remote!

iRed Lite Commentarygood effort, but not yet easy to grasp for end users - Version: 0.8.5b3 (12), 5/26/2006 08:45AM PST

If you want to do anything outside of the presets, be prepared to do some scripting. Although it´s fairly easy to learn, I just want to automaticize Powerpoint, which should be in the package, and basically need only back an forth for slides, but no way, use Keynote instead and you´re a happy camper. Don´t recommend it yet.

this has GREAT potental and could one day be really good.

i just think at the moment the UI of the editing part is a little too complex for the average user, perhaps, and also PLEASE let it just run in the background, i hate things in the dock!! even just a menu bar option would be best, or perhaps the option for any of the 3.

keep up the good work
