Call Recorder for Skype CommentaryBluetooth - Version: 2.3.8, 9/24/2009 02:06AM PST

Wow! Saw that the update is to fix a recording error while using a bluetooth headset? Can't wait to try that out. I was one of the people that reported having issues. However I did purchase a USB headset recently. But the sound quality of that headset is superior to the bluetooth.

Call Recorder for Skype ReviewGreat for Podcast Interviews - Version: 2.3.4, 12/6/2008 10:22AM PST

I've been using Call Recorder to record interviews for a podcast I do. Simply put ... it's great. I have not experienced a single problem, the software is incredibly simple to use, and the resulting recordings are very good. If I had to come up with a complaint, it would be that the overall design of the application isn't very attractive, but, otherwise, this is a very solid little utility that does exactly what it says ti will.

This developer's products are generally good, I use their iChat product that allows older hardware to maximize bandwidth and ultimately fool the system into letting me do video conferencing on older hardware. I bought and paid for that product, but I thought it was too expensive, and while I'd really like to have this Skype recorder, I think it's just too expensive.

Works very nicely. I did an interview for the Jazz Zine with Paquito D'Rivera while he was in Poland. I live in California. It came off perfect with no glitches or poor quality sound. The audio was near excellent.

Call Recorder for Skype ReviewDoesn't work with Logitech Headsets - Version: 1.0.3, 8/4/2006 06:10AM PST

I have a Logitech 350 USB headset and didn't realize that this plugin is not compatible with logitech headsets. I purchased it and about 5 minutes into a call it drops the other callers. I am so far very unhappy with this product.

After trying to find a way to record Skype calls, and finding most solutions far too complicated, Call Recorder seemed the way to go. And it was. The temporary bug in the last version has been quickly resolved, and it works incredibly well. You don't have to do a thing (well, perhaps convert the QuickTime movie file into mp3 with the converter that goes with the software). Highly recommended.

Call Recorder for Skype ReviewShowed Promise Until...... - Version: 1.0.1, 6/15/2006 07:18PM PST

The third time that I used it. The program records the audio in two separate tracks. Track one is you, track two is everyone else on your skype call. Well I had two interviews for my podcast messed up because the audio tracks overlapped. Once my track was 40 seconds ahead of the second track and another it was 30 seconds behind.

Then, when one of the podcasts that I'm involved in did a 5 way call, my audio track was 6 MINUTES off. Well that and the convert to MP3 program would crash every time I tried to use it on that file. Only using Quick Time was I able to listen to the recording. Needless to say our hour and twenty minute show was waisted.

I was unable to find a program that would open the file and show the different audio tracks so that I could edit them and fix the issues. Needless to say I will just use AHP from now on, I can not afford to take the risk with the product any more.

It really is to bad since the audio quality of the first two times I used it were quite good.

Call Recorder for Skype ReviewAlways on - Version: 1.0.1, 5/24/2006 04:50AM PST

One of the really big advantages of Call Recorder is that it can be always on whenever you launch Skype; and once you've set it up, you can forget it except to collect your recordings. You can also record with Audio Hijack Pro from Skype, but you have to remember to launch Audio Hijack Pro, then hijack Skype, then click record. Then click off when you're finished. Call Recorder avoids all that and turns on when you make a call, and off when you're finished - no need to think about it. On versiontracker it costs $14.95 but on the site they're selling it for $12.95. One annoying complaint - despite selecting the desktop to dump recordings, Call Recorder insists on putting them in a folder called "saved calls" - it's either a bug or a developer trying too hard to keep things neat. Non-the-less it gets five stars because it really is a work saver.
