Product Description:

Encrypt This is a Universal Binary AppleScript application for Mac OS X 10.3 or later that takes all the files and folders you drag onto the Encrypt This icon and creates an AES 128-bit encrypted .dmg disk image file which contains those files and folders. You are prompted for a pass-phrase upon dropping files onto the Encrypt This icon. That same pass-phrase must be used to access the disk image in the future.

What's new in this version:

  • Now a final release (no longer in beta)
  • Fixed a bug where, if the the first item in the (alphabetical) list of items dropped onto Encrypt This was a folder, the disk image file would be placed inside that folder rather than in the containing location of that folder as expected.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later

Encrypt This ReviewInto the Trash can - Version: 1.0, 7/24/2008 01:26AM PST

Rokcet Scientist
When I drop a file or folder on Encrypt I get this fantastic message

http://tinyurl.com/66sdnu

OR

I get a panel asking for a password and a verification, which I duly fill out, click OK. Then the panel disappears, and the B/W propellor cursor appears... indefinitely. But static, not turning. I.o.w. it hangs, and requires a Force Quit to get out of.

But that's all. Nothing else happens. The file or folder is still as accessible as it was before. No panels asking for passwords or anything. Zilch!

This is on OSX.5.4

Looks like an Alpha 'release' to me. Using Joe Public as guinea pigs...

Have only used this once, but it worked great. Yes, Disk Utility can do the same thing, but this is faster and easier.

Encrypt This ReviewEncryptThis worked on USB Flash Drive when Disc Utility (MAC OS 10.3.9) didn't - Version: 1.0, 1/10/2007 09:57PM PST

I used this EncryptThis to creat a password protected disc image to store on the key fob USB Flash Drivee I carry with me. Now if I lose my keys whoever finds them won't have my address, which is no my resume. Important protection so they won't just come to my house and walk right in. I tried to create the same kind of disc image using on the USB Flash Drive and was unable to do so using Disc Utility (10.3.9). To use Disc Utility I had to create the disc image from a folder on my hard drive, not the USB Flash Drive, and then drag it over. Not a huge savings in time, but still worthwhile... and free!
