I downloaded this and after only a few tests, observed that in many cases it reports that the two files are equal when they are not equal.

I'm getting some files that are not identical and I'm wondering if this is because names or creation dates are different. In other words, does File Compare look at the file name and date when it concludes that the files themselves are not identical?
As for the way the software functions, it's simple, clear and works fine as far as I can tell.
I've always liked the MD5 idea for checking lots of different kinds of things. Especially for confirming that audio file transfers have gone down without error. This is especially helpful when taking an audio CD master to the duplication facility. It's a good way to check that the audio got in the way it should.

No matter what files I drag onto File 1 and File 2, it always says they are the same???
In other words, it doesn't work....

My first request for version 1.0 (above) has been fulfilled. Thanks a lot!
Now, if only the second one could be also implemented and I would be absolutely happy... :-)
2. Once you select one file, the application should go to the same directory to select the second.
Top marks for this excellent application. It does what it says!
Thanks!

My main complaint: you can't see all of a file specification when it is a string longer than the window width. The window cannot be resized to expose more of the string.
Awesome!

Great application!!! Works as advertised.
Have two files and you do not know if they are or not identical? Just use File Compare and it will tell you.
I only wish two things:
1. Drag and drop support. Read: truly Mac-like! :-)
2. Once you select one file, the application shoud go to the same directory to select the second.
Thanks!
