This is the only program I've found for Mac that will actually create and split rar files, so it's a great help. The only thing I've found that doesn't work is the option to split rar files into 100mb parts. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I've tried reinstalling a couple of times with no luck... hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.
Good but....

I like the GUI. It's well done and easy to use.
But, the person who posted earlier is correct....
While the Application is Universal Binary, all of the processes that it uses on the back end are PowerPC.

Only the UI is UB

During extraction, SimplyRAR spawns PowerPC process called "rar". While it functions well, calling it Universal Binary is a stretch.

Archive Browser? - Version: 1.0.6, 4/30/2006 01:56PM PST

I would really love to see true archive browser functionality. Granted, you can choose to decompress individual files, but it's a far cry from WinRAR's ability to decompress and launch a file on-the-fly, directly from the archive.
Progress Bar

Would it be possible to have the progress bar not have a flashing effect.
Other than that it works great.

How much better is a rar than a zip?

I couldn't get the PAR functionality to work, but the rest of the application is fantastiic.
It's a bit basic in some places, and lacks a progress display whilst in operation, but it works very well otherwise.
Not quite an alternative to WinRAR yet, but certainly adequate for most.
