Product Description:

First find the set from the user you want to download; to do so just browse through the flickr site till you get to the user Set you want to download. The URL in your web browser should be similar to this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/armadillu/sets/1335736/

Then copy this URL and paste it into FlickrGet; choose a name for your download and type in your Flickr login and password (Only non-yahoo logins work for now). You can then start the download, and all the pictures from the set will be downloaded to a folder besides the FlickrGet application.

The login and password information are optional, but some Sets are set to private so they can only be seen/downloaded if the user allows guests to see them. The photo Sets will be downloaded at the maximum available resolution, but flickr only allows this if you are logged in (and that will only happen if you put in your login and password).

FlickrGet ReviewFantastic idea but... - Version: 0.8, 11/28/2006 07:04PM PST

pittier
...not quite there yet. Sometimes it works, and you get an entire folder from the set you requested - great! But sometimes the after the download is finished, the folder is empty, or full of files that don't seem to be named correctly and won't open even when the suffix is corrected. Love the idea though - serious flickr timesaver. Keenly looking forward to version 1.0

FlickrGet ReviewSome big bugs - Version: 0.8, 8/21/2006 09:36PM PST

Tried it out, found some big bugs:
- doesn't download every image correctly. Of a set with 6 images, 2 were downloaded correctly, the others didn't open in preview. They also had an incorrect filename
- doesn't download the original filesizes (which you can get with some url-trickery)
- download-location cannot be specified mac-like. Instead it just drops stuff into the root-level. When one uses "~/something" to specify a home folder, the app doesn't understand it
- works only with "sets", not with pools, searches, single files, favorites, and all-files-by-a-user.
I do not recommend this product - currently has too many bugs.

After downloading images and making a directory full of web pages, the contents of the directory disappear!
