Product Description:

JABMenu is a convenient and intuitive way to utilize your Mac OS X Address Book data through a system-wide menu. The application provides quick access to your contacts' phone numbers, email, IM, & postal addresses, URLs, and notes. Selecting a menu item will trigger an action such as displaying the content in large type, copying it to the clipboard, creating a new email, dialing the phone, or showing an address on a map using any of several online mapping services.

What's new in this version:

  • Added option to toggle related groups in the "Groups" submenu for the contacts specified in the contact source preference.
  • Added menu item to clear the data cache without having to open the preferences window.
  • Added help buttons in the preferences window.
  • Fixed large type window opacity on Mac OS X 10.5 & 10.6.
  • Fixed an issue when using smart groups as the contact source.
  • Fixed the online help links in Mac OS 10.6.
  • Updated & Augmented the documentation.
  • Many minor enhancements & optimizations.

I use ti have iAddressX, but it doesn't work Leopard. JABMenu is is like iAddressX, maybe even cooler and it works with Leopard.

You are the Man.

I'm even going to pay real money and buy this. I ONLY pay for GREAT applications, not those fly by night, make a fast buck and see you later developers. You know who you are.

I love this app. Been using it since version 1.0. However, it brings my system to a crawl whenever I make a change in AddressBook. I’ve got some 1,200 addresses and each time any modification is made to the AddressBook JABMenu takes some 5-10 Minutes to update... during which time it is not responding and taking up some 40-70% of CPU. Written to the author about this and hope the problem will be eventually fixed.

I like the idea and it fit a need for me, but I get the spinning beach ball for 40 seconds to 3 minutes to activate the drop down menu. Granted, I have @ 1500 contacts in Address Book. This might work for people with fewer contacts.
