Product Description:
Hex Fiend is a hex editor for Mac OS X. It supports arbitrary insertions and deletions, and unlimited file size. It uses very little memory and is extremely fast because it does not need to store the file in memory. It also has a data inspector to view data as integer or floating point, signed or unsigned, big or little endian, in various sizes.
What's new in this version:
- The Go To sheet now accepts input in hex (prefix with 0x) and octal (prefix with 0)
- Fixed annoying bug where the text field value was not committed in the Go To sheet.
- Fixed bug where the next byte state was not properly cleared after using the Go To sheet.
- Fixed bug where delete would remove data in overwrite mode.

Such a great tool! The best HexEditor for the Mac, without any serious competition!
- It is extremely fast!
- The statusindication on saving files comes in really handy. Especially on large files
- It only saves the changes you make to a file. Also a wonderful feature when it comes to working with large files
- The UI is also great: When you enlarge application-window, both the sizes of Hex-pane and the ASCII-pane will alter.
To my humble opinion:
The name of this app is very well chosen. :)

I usually use Resorcerer for hex editing, but it doesn't have an overwrite mode, so I was glad when I found this nice quick hex editing app that does have it. Add a bit view like what's in Resorcerer's Value Converter to the Data Inspector window and I'll add another star.
