ted CommentaryTVShows is a much better program - Version: 0.971, 11/11/2009 11:09AM PST

I used TED for about a year but I don't like the way you need to leave it running or launch it several times a week to find all your torrents.
TVShows just has to be started to set up the list of torrents to find. Then you quit and let the daemon search and find the files entirely in the background, the next morning all your shows are downloaded.
TVShows is the best program of its type.

ted ReviewDoes the job but... - Version: 0.96, 10/24/2008 07:55PM PST

BigWheel89
it does the job I guess but does it in a rather annoying way.

My biggest problem is there is no default set of parameters. You have to edit them individually in each show. I had to change the default of 50 seeds and delete the crappy default rss feeds from every show i watch. I don't own a regular tv so believe me its a lot

it does not listen to "dont download these file tyes" I know its not a "compressed file type" but i dont want an .flv version of a show apparently there is no way to tell it so.

when it doesn't download a show which is clearly in my parameters it says" found 2 but did not download - check log" but where the log? I did enable it but i am clueless as to where it is

i recommend only because its the only thing there is if you are not using Vuse/Azureus

ted Usage TipRequires 32-bit Java 5 - Version: 0.95, 10/5/2008 12:39PM PST

heynnema
Use the Java Preferences app in /Applications/Utilities to check your setting. You MUST select 32-bit Java 5. 64-bit Java 5 or 64-bit Java 6 will cause Ted not to launch (and it generates a cryptic error message).

I've contacted the author, and he's looking into why.

Cheers, Al
