Product Description:

Most of us had emptied the Trash, and then realized that there were important data in the Trash, now gone forever. Once TrashMagic is installed and protect your Trash, just launch it and recover your data, even days or weeks after emptying the Trash.

Protection engine running in background.
Automaticaly backup the Trash contents.
TrashMagic menu to activate/deactivate the protection at any time.
Maintain the data in the cache during a programmed time.
Drag and drop recovery.
Option to automatically empty the Trash (with items moved to the cache).
Mac OS X only.

1.2 is buggy - Version: 1.2, 8/11/2009 07:18AM PST

Been very happy so far until the update to 1.2. Now it pops a dialog there's a newer version (there isn't) and you have to click Cancel a few dozen times to dismiss it. If you go into the app to turn off upgrade notification, it crashes. Emailed developer two days ago, no word yet.

I tried the demo, it worked of course. Then I trashed something I really need so, $49 later, I have a license and yes, it works as advertised. I also have Data Rescue II which works but is really, really slow. If time is money and you need to undelete some trash quickly, then this is maybe worth the money (I took off a star because its kind of over priced). And yet, if the poop hits the fan, you're in a hurry to get back something you deleted, well it is useful. I think for the money, they should allow you to install on at least two machines per license. Its network savvy, not that its difficult to over-ride this. Still, at this price, a two machine license (desktop and laptop) would gain it another star.

The demo version will only recover files that have been deleted within the last five minutes. The 5 minute limitation is lame and does not give the user a long enough time to demo what TrashMagic does. I want to recover a file I deleted a month ago not five minutes ago.
