FGDataBackup Troubleshooting ReportHow do you recover? - Version: 1.0, 10/10/2009 11:20AM PST

quintevideo
Once I got the update it was great, selected the folder and said GO but... I can not figure out how to recover the files, that isn't that good if you can't recover.

One of the other comments said it was easy -- please share.

FGDataBackup ReviewIt just doesn't work - Version: 1.0, 6/25/2009 08:14AM PST

I appreciate people who post their software in hopes of helping others, but, frankly, this one just doesn't work. Stay away!

FGDataBackup CommentaryGreat software functionality, but the interface... - Version: 1.0, 10/15/2006 05:14PM PST

I have been looking for an archiving solution for a while, a nothing else that I have found works as well as this application to archive large quantities of data over several DVDs! The only suggestion I might make is about the interface; although I can tell that some thought and some work went into it, I couldn't help but be distracted! Obviously, others may feel differently, but I thought I would add my two cents!

I tried to burn a disk. The Application started fine, I chose my folder, it calculated that I will need 10 CDs. Then I tried to burn.
- External burner (FireWire) started well, but when showig "finishing burn" it stopped doing anything (and did not respond any more). So I redid he whole thing.
- Internal burner burned some of the 10 CDs, with others it failed: It showed the window for settings, I cliked burn, it copied to cache, for a second it showed finishing burn, then it showed a message like "burner did not react correctly. Could not retry". Then it skipped to go to the next CD, which burned well, the next after this one failed again... and so I stopped.

thanks for checking out. I'd love to use your product.

FGDataBackup ReviewPerfect implementation of a simple usefull idea - Version: 1.0, 8/22/2006 12:12AM PST

It was one of my ideas for a little project, saved time writting it, by downloading it, and bam!

Worked perefectly.

English is a little sparse, UI is a little wierd.
But service it provides is perfect and v. usefull.

FGDataBackup ReviewJust what I've been searching for! - Version: 1.0, 7/28/2006 06:35PM PST

Just did a backup of my macbook pro across multiple DVDs. This software is the best - pick a folder and it scans through subs to calculate what will fit per burned dvd or cd and automatically starts the second/third/etc. when needed. Files are not compressed so DVDs are readable in other machines. Great with dual layers, 8GB per disk. It creates and places xml files of your full backup session on each disk. If your session takes 6 dvds, there will be six text files on all six disks, so you can use any of your member media to locate what is on the others.

I'd give this one 6 stars if I could. A MUST HAVE for any mac user. Not all of the display is English, but the dialogs you have to answer are. Great utility and its free!
