This is the worst program I have ever bought ($54.95). It constantly locks up my system when I try to copy or cut and paste. I've contacted the author, asking for my money back or an update to fix the problems but have received only silence. No support! Save your money.

For a $55 product DoodleCAD does a lot. Not only that but it's easy to use - I've never seen a drawing app that allows such natural and intuitive path and shape editing. DoodleCAD has this great feature that lets you just turn dimensions on for an object rather than drawing them seperately. Easily change document scale and measurement units. I just cant say enough.
It's not a Versacad but it's not $600 either.
But why take my word for it - download it and try it yourself - it seems to allow a huge amount of free trial time with no restrictions.

Have not tried the program but it looks really strange that the developer seems to be reviewing his own work...
Pretty solid

This is a very capable illustration/CAD program and the price is great. Also, the fact that the trial period is not an absolute time period gives you the chance to try DoodleCAD when you actually have something to try it with. Cool.
My only criticism of DoodleCAD is that it's a little week, but certainly usable, in the gradient fills and I wish it had more cross-hatch fill choices. The help files are pretty complete but I would like to see a printable pdf help file as well.
This is a great version one product at a great price. I can't wait to see how version two looks.

I have spent the past week trying to find CAD/Drafting programs I could afford. So far, this is perfect!
