Product Description:
NNW Unread Menu is a simple menu bar application which can provide you with a quick and easy way to see how many headlines are marked as unread in the popular RSS reader NetNewsWire. Not only can you view the total number of unread headlines right in the menu bar, but with one click, you can view which subscriptions are unread and how many articles are in each. NNW Unread menu also provides Growl notification for NetNewsWire, instantly notifying you when new headlines are available.

I would like a menu notification for NNW, but when installed on my MacBook pro, this does not behave quite as expected. Unlike the screen shot shown above, my list of feeds is grayed out. That's not that big of a deal, but it does mean I cannot use this utility to go directly to the feed I want to check out [and I think that should be one of its features]. Also, this utility does not respect groups in NNW, i.e., it does not behave the same way the NNW dock icon does, and that is what I was hoping for. Finally, it would be nice if there was some indication of which feeds have been updated. Still, it shows promise, and for now, I can tell when I have updated feeds without having to open NNW.
