Product Description:

EasyTask is a To-Do list that supports the GTD (Getting Things Done) method. Take control of your life by knowing exactly what's on your To-Do list for the day and what you need to do next in order to move your projects forward. It includes an Online Sync letting you access your tasks online or with the iPhone. You can order tasks or actions by project or context. A context is the place or toolset that you need in order to finish a task or action. For example: Are you sitting at your computer wondering what it was you needed to do? With EasyTask just look at the "Computer" context to see all the things in your To-Do list that you can accomplish while sitting at your computer. Are you waiting at the doctor's office with some time and your cell phone at hand? Look at your EasyTask "Phone" context and get to work. You can also sort tasks or actions by days of the week. So when you wake up in the morning you know exactly what you need to accomplish that day. There is nothing more annoying than knowing that there was something that you needed to do but can't remember what it was. Clear your mind of all its little lists and let EasyTask take care of them for you. Move through your day, confident that you are not forgetting anything. With EasyTask you can print your To-Do list on paper to take with you.

What's new in this version:

  • New 3-panel Preview. View and edit tasks faster.
  • Tasks can have system wide alarms (Leopard only).
  • Quick add system wide hot-key allows to add new tasks from any application (option+apple+right arrow key).
  • Improved Online Sync (fix various bugs with some tasks not syncing).
  • Automatic realtime sync with iCal / Calendar store in Leopard so tasks are visible in Apple Mail and emails can be converted to tasks. (Leopard only. Tiger syncs with iCal but users need to click Sync button).

EasyTask Manager ReviewPurchased long ago... - Version: 2.5, 8/4/2009 07:37AM PST

...when a dual platform gtd program was very essential for me between work and home. I was peeved when I had to pay an "upgrade" price which didn't appear to be much of a change. Nevertheless, the price isn't that bad, just worrisome for future "upgrades."

That said, it is not quite ready for prime time though it is pretty close. The ical integration and web syncing is a must for a long term Todo solution, from multiple locations and computers. It still freezes sometimes and doesn't behave in a very Mac fashion, nor does the Windows version I have (VMWare Fusion) appear much more stable. I cannot rely upon it to be my source for everything, but rather use BusySync/BusyCal and use GCal all integrated with iCal, but this too hasn't gotten all of the kinks removed.

I am essentially running both, hoping that one will eventually become slick, reliable, trustworthy, etc.

Big Kudos though for developing concurrently both a windows and mac program, without making mac the red-headed stepchild.

The program sounds good, but its usage is cumbersome: tasks change itself into other tasks, duplicate or disappear. As one understand, this is not what a task manager is supposed to do. In addition, the program becomes unresponsive after every 2 or so minutes, which leaves you in the dark of what happened with the task you just put in (see line above of what happens then).
Documentation is zero, and developed support less then zero.
I think that there is plenty of free software a lot better then this. If you wan to try this one out, be prepared to loose your money.

EasyTask Manager CommentaryHow about ability to fetch phone #'s from Address Book - Version: 2.0.10, 9/7/2008 08:37AM PST

I've been trying out different task managers--"Things" being the latest-- and Easy Task Manager seems like a possible candidate. With iGTD you used to be able to grab a phone number out of Address Book. That is my most important criteria so far because there are several productivity products that do the job but none have this feature (that I know of).
