You only have to find a special secure way to communicate the key one time. (In person, via carrier pigeon, etc. Then you can communicate via encryption many times until an agreed upon expiration. It would appear your 'moniker' is a bit misplaced..

How do I securely communicate the key to the other person? And if I can get the other person the symmetric key securely, why don't I use that method to get him the damn message in the first place?

You get a symmetric cipher using 128-bit blowfish or cast or rc5 or 192-bit desx. Assuming it all works as advertised, this is more or less in the secret decoder ring category of secure communications. The chibi ninja is kawaii, though.

This runs well in 10.3.9 and is very easy to use. The GUI is very simple and easy to understand within a glance. Considering that this has a Windows version, sending encrypted mail would be really easy to do with this application.
