Product Description:

Helios is a particle attraction/repulsion screen saver where "blobs" emit and receive multi-colored particles. It's difficult to describe, but as some have said about the screen saver, it's pretty insane. Helios is available in English, French, German, and Italian.

What's new in this version:

  • This version is identical to UselessSoft's version 1.4.0, with the following changes:
  • Fixed a bug in the way that Helios initialized OpenGL that caused the screen saver to not work under certain video hardware configurations.
  • Removed the "check for update" button.
  • Helios now runs on Intel-based Macs.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

Additional Requirements:

  • Required: Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
  • Required: ATI Rage 128 video card or later
  • Recommended: ATI Radeon 9000 video card or later, or nVidia GeForce 4 video card or later
  • Universal Binary

Best screen saver ever. Really uses computer power to make mesmerizing effects. Complex, bright, beautiful possibilities, working separately on two screens !

Completely agree with other reviewer. Im way short of a hundred screensavers, but I have some pretty excellent ones - I think Helios is still my favorite - always attracts the attention of my piano students when they see it on my PB. This is definitely worth having - glad I've not seen it on the 30" HD - I'd have to buy the monitor!

i am addicted to screensavers.
i have 107 of them in my screen saver folder,
and many more that i keep aside just for the heck of it.
helios is by far my favorite of all of them.
the suptle and beautiful effects it creates are mesmerizing
and delight everyone who sees them.
including me.
on a 30 inch hd screen helios is an almost religious experience.
and no, i am not on drugs, and I am not affiliated with the author in any way.
