iRepair ReviewWorked like a charm - Version: 1.0.6, 1/30/2008 12:00AM PST

MacInfoSys
OS X 10.5.1 and my Applications folder was locked with improper owner/group info. Could not make changes and could not open user/group list in the Get info window. Disk Utility was not able to fix any permissions issues. (didn't find anything wrong with the Applications folder)

Ran this utility and quickly was able to change to the proper root/admin settings and everything is working like it should be.

iRepair ReviewWorked on a locked drive problem - Version: 1.0.6, 1/8/2008 07:42AM PST

I only used this once, but I only HAD to us it once. Leopard had locked 2 internal drives so that they were read only. Absolutely nothing I did was restoring my permissions. 2 minutes with this program and my drives were once again available to me. I found lots of internet sites listing the "locked" drive problem, and no answers to how to unlock them. So I'm very grateful that this program was able to unlock the Leopard locked drives.

I emailed the developer about the OS 10.5 problem, and he emailed back to say he'll have an OS 10.5-compatible version in the next few weeks.

iRepair Troubleshooting ReportOS 10.5 vs iRepair 1.0.5? - Version: 1.0.5, 11/4/2007 10:05PM PST

Sadly, this great utility doesn't appear to work under OS 10.5 yet--it "quits unexpectedly" every time I launch it under 10.5. Anybody else seeing this?

iRepair ReviewFantastic - What a life saver! - Version: 1.0.5, 9/14/2007 09:49AM PST

I'm really not sure how - but iRepair was able to correct an Aperture file vault permission problem I'd been wrestling with for over a month. It all started when moving my external FW drive to my new MacPro... Some how my permissions were corrupted along the migration trail. Needless to say I was skeptical anything could fix this issue, short of formating my drive and creating a new vault.

I was wrong, iRear pulled it off in a second. Very very impressed and thrilled to have this new tool in my arsenal!

A big thanks!
