I have used a similar tool called WAFinspec for I.E. archives and was hoping to find one for new, supported browsers. Thanks!

I think you should make a similar application for IE "archive" files (WAB)

You may ask for donations of course.

Thing is, IE for Mac discontinued and no official download on MS anymore. So, if you have lots of files as a user in that format, you need to download it from THIRD PARTY which nobody recommends.

I believe there is CAB (cabinet) involved in these files and they maybe just same deal, just compressed in CAB.

Perhaps MS can give the specs?

good one. always wanted to have access to those infamous webarchives. though i highly appreciate this little app i wished it would work more reliable. the first site i tested it on, it was only capable to extract ad-related scripts and not the actual site.

Just gave it a single test. It had trouble extracting jpegs.
It extracted 9 files, only the first of which was a jpeg:

pqdweb
pq5.css
spacer.gif
logo_frompq.gif logo_proquest.gif spacer.gif
overlib.js retrieve.js scripts.js

File Juicer gets a lot more files, but doesn't preserve the names:

Whatever-2.gif Whatever.gif

Whatever-1.gif

404 Not Found.html
Document View-1.html

Whatever-1.jpg Whatever-10.jpg Whatever-11.jpg Whatever-12.jpg Whatever-13.jpg Whatever-2.jpg Whatever-3.jpg Whatever-4.jpg Whatever-5.jpg Whatever-6.jpg Whatever-7.jpg Whatever-8.jpg Whatever-9.jpg Whatever.jpg

Whatever(45% copy)-1.txt

WebArchive Folderizer ReviewRapid support and cool app :) - Version: 1.1, 2/8/2006 07:35AM PST

I quickly amend my documentatin rating of neutral to excellent. Not only was the support quick... a few hours turnaround... but adding the drop window creates a defacto Read Me as this little app does one thing really well and lightning fast: turn web archives into folders.

I love it. :)
