First off, I want to thank the author(s) for putting this VPC image together. This package should allow people to experiment with a clean, easy to use, functional variant of Linux.

Second off, I wanted to offer the details of MY download experience. My experience may or may not resemble anyone else's, but is seemingly worthy of note, in light of some of the other criticism.

The download did NOT require a registration, but did require that I re-trype a provided password, much like many online services do in attempts to prevent people from creating numerous or bogus accounts.

The download happened via Bit Torrent and took about 2.5 hours over our T1. There were 3 seeders for most of the download. While that is not blazing speed, it certainly is not prohibitive.

Third, while not noted on the VT site and there is no read me file, the login and password for this installation is as follows:

ubuntu / ubuntu

Best of luck with the image!

this looks cool however the bandwidth on their website (don't even get me started that you have to register to download) is atrocious..1k/s download...come on what's up with that....so they offer torrent links as an alternative...whee, no seeders
