I found that even the demo with the limited food database worked well for checking some random food items that I had around the house. I got the full version for the 4.00 but did not realize that that includes free updates for the life of the widget amazing and a huge food database too. I had two questions the developer was very responsive and helpful, thanks Jon great work!

For those of us tracking calories (which, BTW, does wonders for losing weight), this nifty little widget is a great help in tracking down, for example, the calories, fat content, protein, etc. in yellowtail sushi. Also, excellent support from the author – I had some minor problem reinstalling this on my new computer ==> problem solved with an email within an hour!

Almost went into coronary arrest when I put in SUGAR and got a calorie reading of 387 calories per serving. The widget says 100 grams, then has serving size ONE PACKET as one teaspoon. It DOES NOT calculate that a teaspoon of sugar is 4 grams, or only 15 calories. I had to find that out by looking at my bag of sugar for nutritional content. If you don't know how many grams of an item you've consumed, and if you don't want to do all the calculations yourself, I think this product is severly limited as a calorie counter for the average user.
