Product Description:

VokabelTrainer is a little tool to help you learning words english, german, french or whatever language you like. It supports saving and loading word lists to files which is useful for sending or transporting them to another computer. VokabelTrainer is localized in German and English, but you can use it to learn any language.

What's new in this version:

  • NEW: Function "start partial test" has been implemented
  • NEW: Function "select wrong" has been implemented (hint: use it in combination with New from selected to create a new set of words with the ones you've entered wrong)
  • NEW: Results are now displayed in an own window, which shows the total amount of words, the amount of correct and incorrect words and a the resulting grade (see manual for more info on how this works). Also you can save the results into a file.
  • NEW: A search field has been added (really handy)
  • FIX: Wrong words will be shown correctly when Vocabulary list gets sorted
  • FIX: Deletion now works with multiple items, selecting the last word of the selection
  • FIX: "Vocabulary" has been replaced with "word" on Ray’s advice (thank you)
  • FIX: Smaller memory leaks fixed when editing source/dest-language
  • FIX: Changes on a document are now recognized, so autosaving and confirmation about unsaved changes when closing works now
  • FIX: Set's title is now saved correctly when exporting
  • FIX: Import has been fixed (Test after importing works now, source/dest/title are being set correctly)
  • FIX: Columns do now get resized automatically
  • FIX: LoadVocabularyList-Window does now refresh its contents upon file changes in the directory and when re-opening the window itself
  • FIX: "You entered"-column is not longer editable (would be useless)
  • FIX: CSV-export does escape quotes now correctly

It's a nice little app. I was working on a similar one myself, but got to ambitious with too little time.

There's not any dictionaries packages because there would be copyright issues I guess. But there's some nice free dictionaries on the web, for example <http://freedict.org/>, albeit in a different format. However, you might not want to use a preexisting dictionary, as it contains too many words. More likely you'll try to train in batches of maybe 100 or less words.

Maybe the author should point out that this an *empty* database, nothing more, nothing less.

Otherwise, there will be more dumbheads wondering what to do with it: wait for it to talk to them, wait for it to start up and take them to Hawaii, wait for it to talk to their foreign customers… - wait for it to do anything they are not capable of. Such as typing in the words they might want to learn.

I ain't real sure what this thing does. There's no words in it. Is it supposed to talk or something ?
I guess after 51 years I don't need to be worrying about how I sound to others.
The ability for speech is a physical defect that has only been around for 200,000 years and has caused humans to have the bad effect of water going down the wrong pipe by the slow progression of the tongue moving upward.
Communication is a funny thang. I can talk to many different life forms with less effort then talking with humans and find it much more enjoyable. The other beings that live on this planet don't know what things like greed are. They live life to enjoy it. They eat, play, have sex, raise their young, and just hang out talking about stuff, they have the VERY SAME feelings as you do,they love, they have anger, they fear, their feelings get hurt, and they say humans are the superior beings. I guess we'll see if your still around in 100 million years, then maybe you will be added to the club of intelligent life forms on the planet. That's if you don't destroy it in the next decade, idiot humans. Just imagine how beautiful this world would be without humans, go on imagine, nice huh. That's they way it should look with humans in it. Think about what's truly important. There's my comment.
