Product Description:

Now for the first time, Mac users can organize and manage today's onslaught of information, even across multiple computers, with a natural user experience and the reliability expected from Bare Bones Software. Yojimbo revolutionizes information organization for individuals by providing an effortless mechanism to collect, store and find information as needed. An encryption subsystem allows customers to encrypt individual data items for storage, without interfering with ease of retrieval. Yojimbo encrypts data using the secure AES-256 algorithm standard. Its simple, flexible storage system allows for additional, personally-defined organization of data. Support for Mac OS X's Sync Services synchronization provides data portability for .Mac account holders, making irrelevant which computer was used to access, add or modify an item stored in Yojimbo.

What's new in this version:

  • Quick Start - When you launch Yojimbo for the first time, you'll be given the option to watch a Quick Start movie, which demonstrates several basic features of Yojimbo. If you're already using Yojimbo, you can see the movie by choosing "Quick Start Movie" from the Help menu.
  • "Getting Started" Document - New databases now include a "Getting Started" document, which provides an overview of Yojimbo's features. Current users can see the same information by choosing "Yojimbo Getting Started" from the Help menu.
  • Search Term Highlighting - When you perform a search that includes item contents, Yojimbo will now highlight the search term in the content of notes, PDFs, and web archives.
  • Richer Data Exchange - When you copy or drag items, Yojimbo now includes additional info with the action (text and rich text) for use by other applications which support these types of data.
  • Direct Links to Items - You can use the new command "Copy Item Link" on the Edit menu or the contextual menu to create a link to the selected item(s). You can then paste this link into other applications, or into Yojimbo notes, to refer back to the selected items in Yojimbo. (The link itself is an application-specific URL to the selected item in Yojimbo, which will include a rich-text wrapper consisting of the item name when possible.)
  • One-click Creation of Bookmarks and Web Archives - Yojimbo now supports bookmarklets which you can use to create bookmarks or web archives in Yojimbo with just one click from within your web browser. (Search for "bookmarklet" in Yojimbo's online help for installation instructions or more information.)
  • AppleScript "import" Enhancement - For convenience, the scripting verb "import" now returns either a single item or a list of items, rather than a list containing one or more items.
  • Bookmark Import Improvement - When importing .webloc clippings, Yojimbo will now use the clipping's filename as the item name when there's no name present in the clipping. (Previously, Yojimbo used the URL as the item name.)
  • Bookmark Export - Bookmarks are now exported as URL clipping files rather than text files.
  • Export of Comment Data - When you export items which can be represented as plain text files (i.e. passwords and serial numbers), comments are now included in the item data.
  • Integrated Crash Reporter - Yojimbo now includes an integrated crash reporter which you can optionally use to send us crash logs.
  • PDF Display controls - Menu items and toolbar buttons which control PDF display options are now enabled even if the PDF view does not have keyboard focus.
  • Sticky Spellcheck Setting - If you change the "Check Spelling as You Type" option while editing a note, this change will now apply to all notes you subsequently edit, as well as across application launches.)
  • Yojimbo print service - The name of the Yojimbo print service command (on the PDF button in the Print dialog) is now "Save PDF to Yojimbo".
