.. as officially stated by Apple in their incompability list. That is very sad. From what I know there is no alternative.

I have been looking for something like this since I got a mac about a year and a half ago. Had it for a few weeks now and it works great. The project hasnt been updated in over a year so I was a little worried it wouldn't work with leopard but it does.
Very useful

Just wanted to add my voice to the others here. A very useful little app for people coming from Windows (or Linux - which kinda came from Windows anyway).

I want to thank the developer for this nice little app! Makes life easier for those ex-win users :-)
Also, I would like to point out that if you want to use this app, you should go to the developers website, and download NuFile 2.0. That's right, a new version is available fixing a bug where finder crashes (So it's really recomended to use that verion). You need Tiger for this version however.
Last, one more remark for the developer. Found a little bug in the preference window. First time I choose "Move up", I get a (Growl like) bevel with a "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" message. Although it is very nice of you to thank the user every time he moves an item, I don't think its necesairy ;-)

After installing NuFile1.9 my "Open With" -option in Finder's contextual menu won't work. Finder relauches itself when trying to use "Open With". Removing NuFile helped... :(

Oh yes, and it’s free!
Thanks for the preserved resource forks.

Now my inDesign templates have an icon.
Did I mention this is a great little app? Well, it is.
Saves much time and dialog box meandering.
Thanks immensely.

A simple but surprisingly useful and, until now, sadly lacking feature in the Mac OS. Excellent application, now made perfect with bundle support.
Thanks!

Along with a two button mouse, the right click ability to pick new doc types was the only other thing that I liked about the PC side of things. As I bought the mouse when I purchased my first Mac, this app now completes these two wanted features.
Great job!

The developer website has no option for tech support and an entry into the Blog didn't result in any response from anyone.
I had been using the utility prior to Snow Leopard and loved it.
If anybody knows how to get this to work in Snow Leopard, I'd appreciate your input.
