Product Description:

If you are looking for an efficient way to protect you data with a password, Exces is what you are looking for. This software allows you to create encrypted disk images with AES (Advanced Encrytion Standart)

Disk utility allows you to create encrypted disk images but there is a fixed size. For instance if you choose to create a 5Gb image, it will take 5Gb on your disk, even if the image is empty. Exces corrects this problem by using only the space really used. You are therfore able to create volumes of a capacity of 10Gb without wasting your disk space.

Exces is now avaiable in Universal Binary, the format that allows a software to work on any kind of computer, Power PCs ans Intels. Thus you won't need to use an emulator.

Finger weg.

Exces CommentaryJust a streamlined way of creating an encrypted disk image. - Version: 1.1.4, 10/14/2007 10:45AM PST

The .exc file created by Exces is a bundle that contains a sparse disk image that is encrypted with your password. Users could do this themselves using Disk Utility. What would really be value added is if Exces could automatically close a disk image after a user specified period of inactivity.
