I installed and ran this product because my bank insisted that I scan for spyware on my Mac even though there aren't any known threats. It found a number of tracking cookies but no other problems. Unfortunately however, it completely corrupted my Mail.app IMAP mailboxes, causing me to have to revert my email to a prior state from a Time Machine backup - a time consuming and frustrating process.

But it lacks the ability to auto update definitions on a schedule. It only updates when the program is launched. Scheduled scans use old definitions, unless I remember to manually launch the program and update definitions.
It would also be helpful to have scheduled scans check a specific folder, and be able to setup multiple schedules. And if I have a new folder or file I'd like to quickly scan, I'd appreciate being able to drag and drop on the application, rather than launch MacScan, click lots of boxes and several screens to choose the folder.
