Breaks Rosetta Stone Version 3 - Version: 0.7, 9/4/2008 07:01AM PST

I've used this on literally every app and utility in their respective folders and this is the first app that won't open after being trimmed. With that small exception, I heartily recommend this app.
Terrible program

I used this on a couple of disk hungry apps like Final Cut and Photoshop as well as smaller ones such as Microsoft Messenger and Firefox. The results were all the same. Trimthefat caused all these programs to crash at random intervals. Other people may have more success than me but I am certainly never going to use it ever again.

saved 40+ MB from Google Earth alone. No need for all that Intel fluff on my computer.

works for me

Cleaned up GyazMail and Safari with no issues whatever. A must-have utility in my shop, because this PPC-underpowered Mac OS 10.3.9 dual-USB iBook will NEVER update to 10.4, so Universal Binaries are both unwelcome and unnecessary.
Does not work with World of Warcraft - Version: 0.6, 3/24/2006 05:57AM PST

App launches, but after password entry it can not recognize game version and errors. Other than that, had no problems.
Speed Download, et al - Version: 0.6, 2/22/2006 05:49AM PST

The comment below about Speed Download is a worthwhile warning. Speed Download is one of the relative handful of programs mentioned in the included read-me which include code to determine whether the executable file (not the code, but the file itself) has been modified and then refuse to perform their normal function if any change is detected. I'll restate for clarification: The corrupted executable message you'll see is coming from SD itself. It's not the OS reporting that there's actually anything damaged about the program; it's SD acting exactly as the developer designed it to act.
This behavior has never been recommended or supported by Apple because there are circumstances under which the OS itself will modify an executable and any app doing this will "break" even for that.
Version 0.6 added a "safe trim" mode which is enabled by default precisely because of applications like this. Version 0.7 will include a "blacklist" feature that prevents it from trying to trim apps that are known to do this.
In the particular case of Speed Download, it should be noted that the developer has made a PPC-only build available for download at http://yazsoft.com/files/sd3018ppc.zip. There's no native-only option for Intel users at this point.

I did, and SD would report "Corrupted executable" whenever I tried to run it. I'm using Speed Download 3.0.18 (which I couldn't live without).

I still use OS 8-9 MACCLEANER (1997) on my 9.2 partition-funny thing is-it still finds a couple FAT items to strip in OS X!-which Ive made PPC with no problem. Appleworks 6 and MS Entourage (v10,1,6) and MS Excell (0)
Appleworks actually has TWO versions hiding in it: 6.2.8 for OS 9, and 6.2.9 for OS X.
And there is still one WDEF resource to purge in MiniCAD 7...
Monolingual has a new feature like this for Tiger, but im afraid to use it-
your choices to purge/strip are:
PPC
G3
G4
G4+
G4 64 bit
G5 64 bit
G5
they dont really explain how to use it-do I strip out ALL of them except my G4?
