PocketMac for BlackBerry Troubleshooting ReportFixed "no mounted media card found" - Version: 4.1.25, 8/25/2009 10:03AM PST

I found a fix to that problem.

My Blackberry Storm when using Pocketmac on an itel 10.5.x machine would not sync and gave me the error "no mounted media card found". Also the storm would not show up as a USB volume on any of my Mac's desktops.

I found the solution here:

http://forums.crackberry.com/f79/usb-mass-storage-mode-will-not-enable-250500/

The fix was to hook up my Blackberry to a PC, search the internet for a file named something similar to:

BB storage Activation

And once I ran the program, it updated my blackberry and my blackberry would show up on my Mac's desktop and sync.

PocketMac for BlackBerry ReviewBad / buggy - Version: 4.1.25, 8/6/2009 04:40PM PST

I struggled with Pocketmac 4.125 and the 3.13b driver update today trying to get Pocketmac to recognize my blackberry storm.

Kept getting 'error 1 skipping' in the pocketmac log. Pocketmac wouldn't see my blackberry.

Sometimes syncs would work, then later if I replugged in the Pocketmac, it wouldn't sync.

What seemed to work was install pocketmac 4.125 and not restart like your supposed to, but quit and next install the 3.13b driver update. Then restart.

For some reason that might be part of my problem, my storm 9350 would not mount on my macbook pro's desktop, even though all the mass storage settings were enabled and I had an 8gb card installed in the BB.

PocketMac for BlackBerry ReviewThe application PocketMac SyncManager quit unexpectedly - Version: 4.1.25, 6/5/2009 08:01PM PST

I have been using PM for BB (the earliest version 1.0) for well over a year. My needs are pretty basic, I only sync Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks... I sync'd my BB Curve 8310 with Entourage about twice a month, and it worked fine, except for some duplication that occurred in the "notes" of some of the contacts...

Recently I sat down to sync, and the process got hung up for a long time, eventually it freed up and it asked me to restore or delete a few events, then it quickly proceeded to the next task, and the next thing I saw was the crash message... "The application PocketMac SyncManager quit unexpectedly"... I checked for updates, installed it, rebooted, I installed the new drivers, same problem. I unistalled and re-installed everything w/o rebooting, the problem persists... I have tried it with and w/o Entourage open, it makes no difference.

The point is, the applet WAS working and now it isn't, and the only thing I have done in between is to update my Mac as I do routinely when such things come up...

Something similar happened to me with the a Logitec camera that "needed no drivers" to work with Skype... After working fine for a long time, in one of those "Updates" the microphone stopped working, I couldn't select "audio via USB"... After much a-do, Apple fixed it on the next upgrade...

This wont go away unless the people who wrote PM for BB or Apple (or both) modify "something" so the applications can work together again... Hopefully one of the two parties is interested in keeping the applet going... It was a nice tool...

At this time I don't recommend PM for BB, it is down for the count.... But if you asked me the same question 3 months ago, I would have said yes...
