Product Description:

Stellarium is free GPL software which renders realistic skies in real time with openGL.

With Stellarium, you really see what you can see with your eyes, binoculars or a small telescope.

Stellarium is also used in planetariums.

What's new in this version:

This release should fix a lot of the bugs of the previous version. The MacOS X package is now available as a universal binary, so Intel Mac users can enjoy it too. Thanks to Nigel Kerr, Nicola Fagnani and Michael Heinz. Windows 98 should have no problems anymore either. A simple seascape is also included in v0.8.2, as are a few more languages and language updates.

This is a great freeware app. I have not had it lock up or crash once on my system.

I've had no problems with this program -- and it is proving really spectacular here in North America in the winter -- the only time in the South that we can see the night sky clearly. The program hasn't 'hung' my system, 'though it takes a substantial amount of RAM. I wouldn't want to run this on a system with under 768 Mb installed.
