Lego Digital Designer Troubleshooting Report10.3.9 is NOT supported - Version: 2.1, 5/9/2007 02:06PM PST

Contrary to LEGO's Download page and the installer Read ME, both of which state that 10.3.9 meets the minimum system requirements, LDD will not open in 10.3.9 and LEGO's Support page states that 10.4.6 is minimum requirement.

Lego Digital Designer ReviewImproved... - Version: 2.0.32, 3/21/2007 08:54AM PST

This version for Mac OS X is much improved over the previous version. It looks more Mac-like, though is still an obvious port of a windows xp program.

Some nit-picks:
While the floating palettes are a welcome (and overdue) update, they are not true to Mac interface guidelines in that their position is restricted to being inside the build window. As a result, if the palettes are at the edge of a large build window and you make the window smaller, the palettes stay within the frame of the window and get "covered-up" rather than floating above the window.

The implementation of the brick palette also feels awkward and inconvenient. A tabbed or browser design alá Apple's iApps would have been better.

Overall, this version of LDD is a better application than it predecessor, but is still not a true Mac OS X application. Nevertheless, recommended.

Lego Digital Designer ReviewWorking well here. - Version: 2.0.32, 3/21/2007 08:33AM PST

Started in less than 4 seconds, I was able to free build without checking the instructions. It doesn't seem that you can select multiple bricks (via command-click) and then change their color en masse though...non-OS X UI will vex some...
