Product Description:

SOHO Organizer is the official successor to Personal Organizer and Group Organizer and represents a 100% Cocoa rewrite of the former products. This means SOHO Organizer presents a first-class Mac OS X experience complete with all the features Mac OS X users expect: Aqua interface, Unicode compliance, built-in spell checking, Service support, etc. Finally, the true benefit of a complete Cocoa rewrite is that SOHO Organizer is built for the future and can easily accommodate future technologies (think Intel-based Macs).

SOHO Organizer makes managing customer relationships from phone calls and notes to appointments and to-dos easy. It embraces and leverages popular Mac OS X technologies and applications instead of trying to replace them. For example, it synchronizes seamlessly with the Address Book and iCal so that users can continue to use them and other applications that rely on their data. Users can thus use Apple's iSync to synchronize their contacts and calendars in SOHO Organizer to cell phones, iPods, Palm handhelds, and even .Mac.

What's new in this version:

  • Added alarm, attendee, and recurrence symbols to all-day event banners in the Month view
  • Added Show/Hide Tasks sidebar button
  • Made improvements when getting events and tasks from a CalDAV server
  • Fixed network transmission errors when publishing calendars
  • Fixed problem that would cause certain events to not appear in the Month view
  • Fixed problem that would cause the wrong days to appear in Week view if the system settings were set to UK
  • Fixed problem that would cause dates to disappear temporarily in the event window when using the forward/backward controls
  • Fixed problem that would cause calendars exported from SOHO Organizer to not import into iCal
  • Includes OpenBase 10.0.10 which includes several key improvements

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.5.2 or higher

SOHO Organizer ReviewThe Best in the Last 3 years! - Version: 7.0.1, 4/21/2008 10:27PM PST

This version is significantly better than anything Chronos has released over the last several years. I can understand all the grousing about failed promises. I suffered through them as well, but this version actually works, and it works really well!

I feel scammed by the companies prior representations, but this version works and works well––zero problems over the last month. It's fast and clean. I haven't had any problems syncing across dotMac. And it has been seamless between iCal, Address book and SOHO Notes. It launches promptly, and has the long promised features. It's such a shame they did such a crappy job on earlier versions 5 and 6: endless lost hours. I haven't purchased an upgrade yet because I'm so mad about the previous investment, but this one does work––it's everything the others were promised to be. I haven't had a problem upgrading or going back.

So I recommend this version to all, but the companies past behavior has been absolutely atrocious––beyond the pale! They have good people, but they are under resourced. I don't get their business plan. That's a whole other deal!

SOHO Organizer Troubleshooting ReportHow do I convert my PO 4.5 database file to use with SOHO Orgainzer 7? - Version: 7.0, 4/7/2008 09:24AM PST

Can someone help me? I've been a diehard PO 4.5 user since it was released, and now I want to try version 7 (stayed away from 5 and 6). So, how do I convert my PO 4.5 database file to use with SOHO Orgainzer 7?

Chronos has converters posted, one to go from 4.5 to 5, and one from 5 to 6. But none will work. I always get an error message that I need a more current version of the converter.

Anybody have experience with this?
