Product Description:

SOHO Organizer is the official successor to Personal Organizer and Group Organizer and represents a 100% Cocoa rewrite of the former products. This means SOHO Organizer presents a first-class Mac OS X experience complete with all the features Mac OS X users expect: Aqua interface, Unicode compliance, built-in spell checking, Service support, etc. Finally, the true benefit of a complete Cocoa rewrite is that SOHO Organizer is built for the future and can easily accommodate future technologies (think Intel-based Macs).

SOHO Organizer makes managing customer relationships from phone calls and notes to appointments and to-dos easy. It embraces and leverages popular Mac OS X technologies and applications instead of trying to replace them. For example, it synchronizes seamlessly with the Address Book and iCal so that users can continue to use them and other applications that rely on their data. Users can thus use Apple's iSync to synchronize their contacts and calendars in SOHO Organizer to cell phones, iPods, Palm handhelds, and even .Mac.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed bug that caused the insertion point to move in a journal or daily note entry when saving
  • Fixed a bug that caused the main window to disappear when clicking on a window in a different application
  • Fixed a problem that caused a wrong contact to be linked when linking an event to a contact
  • Fixed problem that would cause View > Customize Toolbar to be disabled
  • When new events are created and the current time is in the 11PM hour the new event gets created on the current day instead of the next day
  • Fixed various issues when displaying and creating events the last week of the year
  • Fixed problem that caused the current date to display incorrectly in the calendar views on Finnish systems
  • Fixed problem that caused the scroll bars to not work in the Notes block of a contact

SOHO Organizer ReviewPromising product - but seems to have been abandoned - Version: 7.0.3, 1/5/2009 03:21AM PST

I was excited about Organizer when version 7 came out - after a brief trial I bought a license. 7.0 had a couple of minor bugs and quirks but I figured they would be fixed in future updates. 7.0.1 through 7.0.3 were released quickly addressing a few cosmetic problems.

Over time I found a good number of additional serious issues (iSync problems, problems with repeating events and todos, display issues, timezone weirdness, and more), filed bugs on all of them, and been in touch with support who confirmed the problems and promised fixes.

Since then ... nothing. There haven't been updates to Organizer for months and support has gone silent. Chronos has been busy releasing other new products but obviously has abandoned their existing Organizer customers.

Very disappointing - I've invested significant time and money in a dead product ... moving on and 'good riddance' to Chronos.

Hello to all!

I've used their Organizer software since 4.5, skipping what some call the "trouble years".
I have a head injury, (Auto, buckle up!) and while my IQ is very high, I have some memory issues, especially running TWO business', with raising a family, and various doctors /lawyers, appt's and reports, this software was / is priceless.

I got an aluminum iMac last year, and upgraded Organizer to 7, along with getting Notes and Print Essentials. It's more complicated, but that's only because it does so much more. BTW, Chronos gave me a Great deal!
Support has ALWAYS been flawless, and was usually caused only by my own shortcomings.

It syncs up perfectly with Address book and iCal, both ways, and instantaneously from what I see.
Updated to 7.0.3 this AM, and it was fairly straightforward, I had to go back and download the PDF for SOHO notes, but, that's because I accidentally deleted it. (clumsy fingers).

This software is still priceless for me, and is my "go to" app!
Same goes for SOHO Notes. Together, they're great.
Be sure to read the PDF's, which CAN confuse because of "single user" and "Multiple". I think they should break those down into separates, rather than include both in the same text. It would make for easier reading....

I'm happy!

MacOutlaw

Pete

The sync with iCal seems to be perfect and it's great to be able to link up contacts to calendar info--I don't know why that's not built in to the system it seems so obvious.

The other thing I'm loving with Soho is that you can put TASKS on a certain day, which iCal alone will not do. Often a task needs to happen on a day, but not at a certain time.

I have not really tried the other components of the package, but these parts are fantastic.
