Product Description:

DiggUpdate gives you quick access to the front page stories of digg.com in your Mac OS X menu-bar. DiggUpdate will display a small icon at the top right of your screen. When there are new front page stories you have not seen, the lamp in the icon will turn yellow. Simply click on the icon and you will see the new front page stories in your menubar as long with a short description. You can click on any of the stories to visit them. DiggUpdate will also display the brand new top front-page stories as well as friend activity through the new Classic Digg Windows and Slim Windows.

What's new in this version:

Real-time digg this button implemented on Classic Digg Window
40 Story limit imposed to prevent errors
Choose which section of digg to read
Added Clear All Small Windows button to the menu
Added Sparkle updater support
Fixed drawing behavior on some button presses
Fixed a warning being thrown when the Clear All button was pressed or the close button was pressed on a slim window
Fading windows now fade for 2 seconds on all computers
Slim windows now all fade out at once instead of queuing the closing of windows

Nor sure why, but I'm experiencing all kinds of problems with it: It won't go to work after I change prefs and restart it, it doesn't update after the first run of 5 articles, I can't get it back after I click the 'close window' button, the window sits there overlapping other stuff and can't be moved...

It's a nice idea and I would have liked to use it, but it just doesn't behave the way it should...!? :-( (PoweBook G4 with 10.4.7 German)

After running this for only a few hours, I ran top (a UNIX shell utility) and noticed that it was using 216M of memory! There's obviously a serious memory leak somewhere in there. Hopefully the developer will find it and fix it soon, meantime if you're running this and wondering why your system is suddenly slowing down, try quitting it and see if that helps.
