I have tried several times to download version 2.7.3 from version tracker and the home site but I still get version 2.7.2.

If you downloaded the update when it first was available and you had recipes from a prior version backed up and needing to be re-imported, download the application again. I had a minor error in the import script that was not adding unmatched recipe files. Sorry about the inconvenience. (This was corrected within the first hour of the update announcement.)
Also, you will note that the field "Recipe Type" was not being honored between export/import. This was one of the fixes in this version, so now that field will be correct between upgrades.

It's not only OS X native, but it does MORE than the equivalent on that other platform (which has driven me nuts for years, trying to deal with VirtualPC).
I've been brewing for over 20 years, and most of the time I wound up resorting to my own custom Excel spreadsheet, with tons of macros, simply because nothing else was as convenient. Now we have a tool that does pretty much everything I want it to do, and it's not only esy to use, but it's fast and clean.
Good design, good implementation, good support, and the price is certainly right. (Although I take some pride in being the first one to contribute to the cause. Please do the same.

Back in the time of OS 9, I used another freeware app. called Brewers Notebook. This program blows it away! Thank you, thank you thank you.

... and as a bonus, why not a windows version ? The database engine should be available for the less lucky people too...

Finally -- I don't have to use ProMash in VirtualPC any more! Homebrew Formulator is incredibly comprehensive, from helping you formulate your recipe to developing a mash and boil schedule. All the fermentables, yeast (white labs, wyeast and safle) and hops you could possibly hope for are all here.
This app handles complex water chemistry (sulfites, carbonates, magnesium, etc) and decoction mashes, so this isn't just a simple recipe formulator.
I can't believe such a full-featured professional app is free. Kudos to developer. Prost!
