Memory hog ... used up to 55% of my processor speed (dual G4-500), preferences never opened, had to force quit. looks like it is designed for dial-up connection because the meter only goes up to 48.8KB.

No one has mentioned how huge the meter is; way too large, and unadjustable.
The preferences, though shown in the menu, only give the splash information,
an obvious programming error. I was looking for something much like
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest
which I think is still the best tool. Go there to check your speeds.

Uses about 70% of a 2.3 GHz cpu. Not good advertising for the companies other products.
