SWF & FLV Player CommentaryPlays f4v's if you rename them .flv - Version: 3.8.20.6241, 7/18/2009 09:46PM PST

Rault
The other two FLV players here couldn't recognize my Adobe CS4 files that were named .f4v (compressed with h.264 / aac). This player could! I did have to rename the file .flv for it to work. This same trick did no good on the other two (FLVthing and FLVplayer).

This one rocks, has scrub controls, and is much more mature-feeling. And it's free!

SWF & FLV Player ReviewCalls out to 8 different addresses, & it's unstable - Version: 3.8.17.6225, 4/28/2009 11:39AM PST

Every time I start it up Little Snitch informs me that the free version of SWF & FLV Player is calling home and to 7 other addresses! That is simply unacceptable. In addition, twice it has become hung up during this process (even after I instructed Little Snitch to allow all those callouts) and I had to force quit it. It's just too buggy, and it calls way too many third parties in its startup process. I just had to uninstall it.

SWF & FLV Player ReviewSwift support - Version: 3.7.15.6206, 5/21/2008 03:15PM PST

Yesterday I wrote Eltima that downloading movies from YouTube did not work in Mac OS 10.4.11 (PowerPC) with the version published that same day. The next day Eltima contacted me, announcing a new debugged version. And indeed the version 3.7.15.6206 of SWF & FLV Player functions like a charm again.

After the automatic update process, SWF & FLV Player infinitely continues to detect a new version 3.7.15.6206 saying that my installed version is 3.7.15.6204.

SWF & FLV Player Commentaryhooray for auto-update! - Version: 3.7.15.6198, 4/11/2008 01:02PM PST

with all the small updates they come out with on this product, an auto-update feature is appreciated and i'm glad they finally put it in.

in response to the "nagware" comment...i believe it's only nagware when you play .flv files. it should not be nagging when playing back .swf files that don't contain FLV video.

SWF & FLV Player Reviewfree and functional - Version: 3.6.13.6160, 12/19/2007 06:27AM PST

It is a great product and very easy to use, I have used it to watch every flash movie I have. I just love the saving flash movies feature.
2 jcospino: TubeTV is not a player, dude! Well, it saves movies from youtube all right, but it doesn’t play them. How does this compare to a SWF Player ?
2 blueskymining: this software is FREE, it simply cannot have a trial period. you download it and use it. Want some other features? Purchase the pro version, that's all. But their free version cannot expire. Your review is simply worthless.

SWF & FLV Player ReviewBEWARE BEWARE!! This is Nagware after trial period!! - Version: 3.6.13.6160, 12/18/2007 05:52PM PST

After the Trial Period is over, it will ONLY PLAY 5 SECONDS of the FLV or SWF file and NAG YOU to BUY the Pro Version!!

BEWARE BEWARE!! This is Nagware after trial period!!

THe only thing I can believe is that the previous reviewers are either on the developers payroll or they reviewed it before the trial period was over!

Listen, guys, you will never find an ultimately ideal software. This one is also a little buggy and not that perfect. But I use it and quite satisfied with its performance. After Eltima guys upgraded it to Leopard compatibility, it became even more stable that it was.
