Product Description:

ProteinGlimpse is a simple widget for visualizing macromolecules retrieved from the RCSB Protein Data Bank or any supported molecule file format dropped over it, and It is powered by Jmol. I want to thanks Daniel Gasco Rodriguez for the astonishing graphical interface provided for this widget. (http://www.dgarte.com) ProteinGlimpse is a Universal applications, that means it made to run on both Intel- and PowerPC- based Mac computers.

What's new in this version:

  • Tiger and Leopard compatible
  • Jmol 11.4.2 applet added

Who'd've thought, playing bard's tale all those years ago, that we'd just be grabbing 3d models of molecules in different forms and spinning them around in a "widget". Pretty freaking cool.

I hate widgets, but this thing is great. It even passes the 50S ribosome test. Jmol was a natural thing to incorporate as it is javascript, but I never thought of it. Very cool.
