Product Description:

ReelBean is a movie converter and player. It can be used to convert movies to the video iPod format, and many other formats, and has media playing features available as standard that are often pro features in other applications.

What's new in this version:

  • The Extract Movie Tracks option in the Window menu allows a video clips audio track to be extracted directly into iTunes (using the Extract Audio to iTunes button.) Audio can be converted using MP3, WAV, AAC, AIFF and Lossless formats.
  • Added DVD Playback feature, using a borderless window.
  • Added a transparency slider that can be used to adjust the transparency of the movie window while a movie is playing.
  • Altered the behavior of the application when the main window is closed. It no longer causes the application to exit. This allows you to have the choice of playing both a regular movie (QuickTime, MPEG4, AVI, etc) and a DVD simultaneously, or to close the regular movie window when the DVD window is present.
  • Added two items under the ReelBean menu. The Turn On/Off Auto Software Update Check allows enabling/disabling of the automatic check that takes place when the app starts up. The Check for Software Update menu item allows a manual check for new ReelBean software to be made at any time.
  • Various minor bug fixes.

    I'm happy to see that this app has much improved with image quality and stability. This is also the only (free) program that easily allows you to save the audio file out of a movie file.

    This is a solid little app with a nice interface and lots of neat features. However, I think it's unfortunate that fullscreen is not one of these features.
