Product Description:

This utility, once installed, will allow you to reboot your Macintosh without playing the startup chime. An uninstaller is included. This can come in handy for those who wish to keep their system volume turned up but do not want the loud Startup Sound to play on restart.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS 10.4 "Tiger" is recommended. Installation assumes an Administrator account
  • but no root access is requested or needed.

This would be nice if it actually worked... but tried for around 30 min restart... and all.

But no, the little cute mac still squicks when started.

I am using tiger, but no luck

This does nothing at all. Installed fine -- it asked for an admin password -- and then said it was successful, but several restarts & logouts later I still have a loud startup chime/gong. Nothing evil seems to have happened, but this definitely did NOT perform what it claims to do. Maybe a version 2.0 will be better.
