Product Description:

Wouldn't the services menu be much more useful if it weren't overcrowded by services you never even thought of using? With Service Scrubber, you can:
  • restructure the services menu
  • change service keyboard shortcuts
  • disable services

What's new in this version:

  • Finds system-owned services (e.g., ChineseTextConverter) more reliably.
  • Responds more gracefully to missing applications, i.e., those applications you have deleted prior to hitting Service Scrubber's "Save" button.
  • You can now configure Service Scrubber to display service providers in parentheses when looking at the services menu representation (Preferences > Service Providers).
  • You can now configure Service Scrubber to list only those services whose providers are located on your boot volume (Preferences > Service Providers).
  • Available languages: English, German.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or higher (Mac OS X 10.3.9 might work
  • but it's not officially supported)

I can't get 1.1.4 to launch in Panther (and I see on the forum at the developer's site that at least one other person has had the same problem). Would love to get an older version to try.

Service Scrubber Troubleshooting ReportFinds applications on a Time Machine backup drive - Version: 1.1.3, 1/3/2008 10:09AM PST

When I first used Service Scrubber to trim my Services menu a couple of days ago, I was puzzled by some applications appearing more than once in the list. Today there are even more. Looking more closely, I now see that Service Scrubber is scanning my Time Machine backup drive and finding extraneous copies of applications (e.g., Dictionary, Font Book, Mail, Preview, Safari).

I hope Service Scrubber has not adversely affected my Time Machine backups.
