Won't Work For Me - Version: 1.1, 12/21/2005 11:18AM PST

I just downloaded and installed the iSnap to my G5 iMac running 10.4.3
Seems like it ought to be dead simple to use, but it won't work for me.
I click on the camera icon for this Widget, you see the "shutter" open and close, but no photo is saved to the desktop or anywhere else that I could find.
Something I am missing? Anyone else get this to work?? I tried logging out/in, but that didn't do it. It should be easier than this, shouldn't it??

A nice little FREE widget that takes a snapshot each time you click its shutter. (It puts the image of a camera on your desktop when you open the widgets.)
You can do the same thing by making a movie in iMovie and then saving frames, but this is much faster and simpler.
I took a dozen snaps that were immediately saved to the desktop as .jpg files. Haven't tried resetting for a different save location nor different file type, as .jpg and the desktop are what I would select anyways.
The cons I found were: 1. No viewer! You guess at where your iSight is pointing and hope you get the shot you want. 2. Documentation? The simple operation doesn't really need any, but I know some people who need a step by step tutorial to click a mouse button. 3. A few snaps on the desktop are fine, but if you wanted to keep snapping at that UFO the desktop would be buried very quickly. Setting a default folder might work better.
Tested with PowerBook 1.6Gig/OS 10.4/iSight

I criticize someone else's work with great humility, in particular when they are so generous as to offer it as freeware as someone has with iSnap.
However, allow me to note that:
When one takes a photo, one looks through the viewfinder, frames the subject and takes the picture.
I assumed this is how iSnap would work. Who would want to take a photo without looking through a viewfinder? So I launched iChat, framed my subject in the iSight camera (me), went to iSnap and clicked on the icon.
The "shutter" opened and closed, but no photo was saved to the desktop.
After much experimenting, I hit upon trying to take the photo with iSight on, but not associated with any application.
Of course, this worked.
Is there no way to view the subject as you take the picture or must you frame the picture with iMovie or iPhoto, quit the application, then take the iSnap photo?
If the latter is the case, it seriously compromises the usefulness of this Widget.
By the way, says documentation included, but when I opened the .zip file, there was only the Widget and no documentation.
