Product Description:

BeerAlchemy aims to make creating great beers easier. It offers recipe formulation tools that give the brewer immediate feedback on how changes they make will affect their finished beers. It also helps the brewer keep organised by storing all their recipes in a familiar folder-based system. Brewers can export their recipes as web pages or PDFs to share their recipes with others. An extensive ingredients database as well as many predefined mash schedules are included and may be edited to suit the brewer. The application includes a quick brewing calculator for beer colour, bitterness, specific gravity corrections as well as the volumes and temperatures required to perform stepped mashes. This calculator continues to function after the demo period has finished.

BeerAlchemy ReviewThis is Home Brewing For Mac Users - Version: 1.5.3, 6/25/2007 10:48AM PST

If Apple were to make a home brewing app, this would be it. Shopping function is great for looking up prices without having to leave the application – It has WebKit built right in, try getting that with another freeware app. And if you have Skype, you don't even have to pick up the phone to call your home brew shop. Plus it'll open and export .REC files, so you can swap files with all your homebrew buddies on PC's using ProMash.

Other apps will help you organize your recipes pretty well but in addition to a well thought out approach, the design is the best I've seen for a brewing app on any platform. PC users will wish it was available to them as well.

Support is also top notch. Don't be bothered that it isn't free, it is well worth it.

BeerAlchemy ReviewSimply Outstanding - Version: 1.3, 7/21/2006 01:10PM PST

This is what software should be like. Like the others here, I have tried all the Mac programs and found them wanting. But BA is just amazing. Every time I think I have a new idea and email it off to the developer, I will go back to the app and discover it is actually there. The integration of ingredients, inventory and shopping is just incredible. And a link to Skype? Amazing. As soon as I started to get the hang of the software layout, I went through all the bins in my garage and inventoried every ingredient. Instantly, I could see what I needed for all my next recipes. And the ease of making adjustments, and the app's flexibility and adaptability are first-rate. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. A bargain at thrice the price.
