I have no clue why anyone would need a separate application to download individual images from Webshots, since every OS X web browser supports drag and drop. If someone can't figure out drag and drop, then they will be even more hopeless when trying to use WBZ Helper.
What I would love to see is a good application for uploading images to free image hosting sites like Webshots. Both Webshots and Imageshack offer rudimentary apps for this purpose, but we really need something with more sophistication and polish than the existing apps offer. Last I checked, both apps lacked the ability to organize images into albums for uploading, and they could not be used to organize one's already hosted images.

Who needs a screensaver uility for webshots not me. To me this is useless as its easier to just drag what ever photo onto screen and put all jpegs into a folder. No fuss and no mess! To me its alot faster and more logical doing it this way.
Anyhow webshots tried themselves to make a software but abandoned the project in frustration. I will pass on this one.

WBZ Helper does exactly what it should do: it takes the downloaded .wbz files that are unviewable and indecipherable (even Graphic Converter chokes on them) and turns them into viewable JPEG files complete with their original names. Thus, a file that I download that has a name something like 'eb155522f7d21455e0cb6c0aa0ba69ec.wbz' becomes a photo named 'Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas.jpg.' (These are actual names). It places the transformed file(s) into a subfolder of my Pictures folder where I can easily find them. The program also has settings for screen saving, setting the desktop picture, and sharing images. It nicely fills in the hole WebShots left on the Mac, and to top it all, it's FREE.
To the developer: Nice job. And, thanks!
