If you are unsure about using this standalone version of the Updater update, you can use the current Adobe Update app (for CS4); it will download and install this update before any other CS4 updates are downloaded. You can find it in /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities/Adobe Updater6/. Or, you can access it through the Help menu in any CS4 app. Indeed, if you have run the updater for CS4 recently, you may already have this one. Check the version number of your current copy to be sure.

The description says it fixes "networking problems" in 10.5, but the list of supported OSes ends with 10.4. WTF?

This was installed by the link which no longer exists and after the install it would only update Acrobat products despite all CS3 being on machine .
following adobe supports advice I deleted all update files and prefs but when trying update from an App menu it reverts to only doing Acrobat or in worst case only the updater.
this has now killed the Update feature on my CS3...
