Appwatch is a simple application launcher for Mac OS X. It observes the applications that you launch and quit, and builds a menu of "Recent", "Frequent" and "Long-Running" applications. The only UI is the Menu Bar Icon, and the menu itself (and some preferences dialogs). You can use the mouse, or press ⌘-esc (apple-escape) to activate the menu. It's Tiger (10.4)-only and won't work on older versions of OSX.

AppWatch ReviewI don't quite get it.... - Version: 1.0, 8/21/2006 10:13AM PST

sidetracked
Certainly this functions well and is stable. And it is sort of interesting to see what apps I use most, and which have been on the longest (although I have some questiions about the accuracy).

But as a launcher, I found it annoying, since I was never sure what apps it would or wouldn't have on it's lists at a given time. So I'd have to open it, scan the lists, and then open my app a different way if it wasn't among those on the current list. Not the most efficient of approaches.

Maybe I'm mising the point?
