Product Description:

Expanding the possibilities of Apple's Spotlight™, FoxTrot delivers dynamic categorization, context-sensitive display of found items, flexible relevance-ranking and five different approaches to searches (exact words, wildcards, literal, single term and complex patterns).

What's new in this version:

Accelerated the process of updating an index
Added a FoxTrot First Aid feature - which can be invoked by holding the option and command keys upon launching FoxTrot - to rebuild the index or disable unstable third party text (metadata) importer.
Fixed a bug that could corrupt the index under certain circumstances, which in turn would cause a launch error.
Added an automatic index verification upon launching, which will offer to rebuild an index if it is found to be inconsistent.
If a text (metadata) importer causes the FoxTrot indexer to crash, indexing will now resume after relaunch where it stopped (instead of scanning the list of indexable directories).
Fixed a 10.3 crash when trying to purchase the application through Kagi. This means that 1.0.7 is now the official version for 10.3.9 again.
Fixed an occasional Intel-Mac hang or failure on various document types.

VTPro Desktop Downloads Wrong Foxtrot Professional Product! - Version: 2.0.2, 7/31/2008 10:11AM PST

There is a "Foxtrot Personal Search" and a "Foxtrot PROFESSIONAL Search," both with updates to Version 2.0.2. THEY ARE NOT ONE AND THE SAME! The download from the VersionTracker Pro Desktop indicates an update to Version 2.0.2 of "Foxtrot PROFESSIONAL Search" but downloads Version 2.0.2 of "Foxtrot Personal Search", which has its own update listing in the VTPro Desktop. As is, there are two update downloads for "Foxtrot Personal Search" but no update download for "Foxtrot PROFESSIONAL Search". VersionTracker, please correct the "Foxtrot PROFESSIONAL Search" Version 2.0.2 update download in VTPro Desktop!

NOTE: In the past when VTPro Desktop error feedback has been provided to VersionTracker administration, typically errors have received no rectification. Hopefully such pattern, itself, will be instantaneously emended, as well!

Finally a local search tool that can wade through thousands of documents and provide accurate results with live previews. Even hyperlinks are maintained in HTML docs.

Amazingly fast indexing and tons of search features. A little pricey but it is one-of-a-kind.
