Our products are completely safe to download and very user friendly to operate. There are many legitimate uses for this product, other than spam, and I hope people use this software as it was intended. eMail Validator has been out for several years, and is considered by most to be the best in the industry. Please contact us if you have any problems. We offer support by email. A full demo is available for download with only a restriction of 10 emails at a time.

eMail Validator CommentaryIs there a "back door" calling home? - Version: 2.2, 5/4/2008 06:11AM PST

These wonderful folks also offer another spammer’s delight:

eMail Ripper: It can be used extract [millions of] email addresses from text files, email messages, or web pages.

There are no doubt useful, legitimate uses for products like this. But a responsible developer would build in a limit to the number of extractions per use that would deter its use for spamming.

Sadly, the developer is probably safe from prosecution if the product is used for spamming. However the USER is not.

“A 35-year-old Louisville man who ran a "spam" empire, sending hundreds of thousands of unsolicited e-mails, has been sentenced to [21 months] in prison and fined more than $700,000 by a federal court. Davidson pleaded guilty to tax evasion and falsifying header information in spam — so it could not be traced. “

If you plan to use this software for legitimate purposes, you should install something like Little Snitch so that you can be sure the software does not have a “back door” that is sending your validated email addresses back to the developer. Your legitimate clients would not be amused if you were unknowingly sending their e-mail addresses to a third party!
